Inkslinger is the Literary Journal at Biola University, and this is their website. I was challenged to create a prototype website based on the Inkslinger style guide that I created for the publication, based on the lose style guidelines that were set for Inkslinger already.
For the website rebranding, I chose to create something more simple with greater contrast than the current website has, staying within the Inkslinger brand color palette, and updating current site photos with ones from more recent Inkslinger publications.

I worked to create a standardized style guide for Inkslinger, something the literary journal was previously lacking. Though there were guidelines for what fonts, colors, and logos to use, there was no document containing all this styling information in one place. That is why I was tasked to create an Inkslinger Style Guide with color codes, typeface guidelines, logo usage guidelines, and more.
Here you can explore the details of this project.

Independently, I designed the publication’s Instagram posts throughout the year. Below are the details of the project. View the designs more closely here.

Cory Nickols Ministries
-
For CNM I worked hard with founder Cory Nickols to rethink his approach to company branding. When I first began working with Cory, he had a lose color scheme for his company and font styles he preferred to use for content, but no concrete brand guide for his company. Taking into consideration that he wanted a “sophisticated, professional, and worldly” look for his website, I decided to go with a strong colors and impactful fonts. I redesigned the CNM logo to have consistent spacing and complimentary fonts, and created standardized variations of the logo to be used in different CNM media. With Cory’s guidance, I also redesigned the front end page of his website, using the new brand guide as my foundation and collaborating with the head of CNM’s web team to get the changes made.

As a non-profit, CNM depends greatly on partnerships and donors to do the work they do. To keep donors in the loop, it is important to let them know what their gracious donations have helped to accomplish. That’s why sending out an End of Year Report to donors and others on the CNM mailing list is so important. I worked to create an engaging and eye-catching End of Year Report to showcase the many successes of CNM’s year. I then used MailChimp to send out two versions of the report, one for donor’s and one for everyone else subscribed to the CNM mailing list.
See both versions of the CNM End of Year Report here.

Cory Nickols speaks at many events hosted alongside other ministries as a CNM represented. In order to promote these events, I created fliers and other supplemental content for social media, mailing lists, etc. Two fliers created for “Fan the Flame” events are showcased below.
